Happy 45th anniversary to Kate Bush's legendary album, The Kick Inside, released this day in 1978. My first encounter was flipping channels at Pete's house and somehow stopping on a broadcast of The Single File and being completely captivated. Not long after that, Hounds of Love was released and I bought it straight away and instantly fell in love. I quickly bought up all the albums previous to that and was firmly on the bandwagon. Crazy to think The Kick Inside was released when she was 19 and many of the songs on the album had been kicking about for years. Imagine being a teenager and being light years ahead of so many of your peers. I was still eating rocks when I was that age. In any case, this album is well worth your time. Any album of hers is, really, but do yourself a favour and check out The Kick Inside, the album that started it all.
