Planning for this year's edition of Primavera Sound was pretty mundane, thankfully. Last year, I wasn't sure about anything due to, you know, circumstances. I did, however, end up being able to book a last minute flight and make it. This year was smooth, and the festival was a riot. First off, like every festival, you start with the headliners. Made it out to Cruel World last week. It's in its fourth year, I believe, this was my first time. I bought the ticket because Til Tuesday was on the lineup. Believe it or not, I saw Til Tuesday decades ago, opening for Rick Springfield. I went to that show specifically to see them. After they broke up a few years later, I became an Aimee Mann fan and have been for all these years. There's a timeline in which I didn't make this year's festival. Maybe not such a huge deal in the greater scheme of things, but it's something I've come to anticipate and enjoy over the years. Plus I had my own personal streak to keep alive. So, circumstances being what they were, I had a festival ticket and was holding out to see whether or not I could make it.
