December Mix: Aunt Gladys 2025

My faves of 2025, I've been working on this one for a while. When the year began, I thought I wasn't gonna do another one of these, but here I am. Listening to it. Thinking about it. Writing about it. Listening to it again. There was a ton of good stuff this year and I know I missed a lot. As usual, I made an mp3 mix. There's something therapeutic about putting the songs in an order that has some semblance of flow, and then attempting to get the transitions to feel natural. I tried to keep it on the...
November Mix: Lilith Fair 2095

So, a few weeks ago I watched the new Lilith Fair doc that's out there. It's a pretty good, I think Sarah McLachlan produced it. And all throughout, I was wondering why I never went to one of those. I loved pretty much all of the bands that played. (Seriously, I saw Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos alone SO MANY TIMES in the 90s.) Anyways, the only conclusion I came up with is that I was dumb, extra broke or both. I mean, the same goes for Lollapalooza. That shit is totally in my wheelhouse and I never went even...
October Mix: Side 1 Track 1

Welcome to October! Inspired by that scene in High Fidelity, I started making this mix a few years ago, put a handful of tracks together and kinda forgot about it. I was looking for inspiration for this month's mix and decided to revisit this. I expanded it to a lot more than a handful. It's all the greatest album-opening tracks of all time! Jokes, it's just stuff I like, so your mileage may vary (like all of my other mixes). But hopefully you like it. Or someone likes it. Or not....whatever works!
September Mix: Bullet Time

Inspired by my girl group listening a few posts back, I thought I'd make a mix of my faves. Then I decided to throw in some Motown and Stax stuff. Even stretched a bit to some Doo Wop and some 70s soul. Maybe even a little disco. This is what I got. 150 songs and 6.5 hours of pure goodness. At the start, I tried to arrange the order of the tracks, but it was too much. If you're gonna listen to it, best to use shuffle/random play and just turn that shit up.
August Mix: The Rise & Fall of Sanctuary Moon

Hi, here's your mix for August. Because Spotify sucks, it's missing a couple of superb songs (Curve's Missing Link and Morpheme's Infection). And then, the acoustic version of Julia Michael's Lie Like This isn't available on the platform, so we get the original album version, which is still a great vibe, but a different vibe. Sucks that Spotify is the easiest way to get these out there, but that's a whole other conversation. Anyways, I just made this mix in the past week and a half, so it's fresh! It started out as a shoegaze mix and just turned into...
