Welcome back to ROTW. It's the day after July 4th and the Randomizer has decreed that we will be listening to English music legend, Peter Gabriel's third solo album, cleverly titled Peter Gabriel. Also known as III (his third solo album, of course) or Melt (look at the cover!). This 2015 reissue will be on my turntable this morning.  This album was released in 1980 when I was kinda getting into prog rock or art rock, whatever you want to call it. My weekend got thrown out of whack, but here I am blessing your feed with vinyl goodness. This week, the randomizer gives us Peter Gabriel's massive 1986 LP, So. This album has been with me from the start, but this particular copy I'm playing was purchased nearly 10 years ago. Half-speed remaster 180g reissue blah blah blah. This thing was everywhere. Sledgehammer. Big Time. Red Rain. Mercy Street. In Your Eyes. Kate Bush makes an appearance for the gorgeous duet, Don't Give Up, and Laurie Anderson turns up as well (This is the Picture (Excellent Birds)).  I still love this...

Happy 25th birthday to the legendary 69 Love Songs, released by The Magnetic Fields on 7 Sept 1999. If you're not acquainted, it's exactly what the title says it is. The styles are all across the board, thought, and a lot of fun. Listen/buy it here. Also, I love Peter Gabriel, but no.
