Been listening to this podcast about the films of John Hughes and the music that soundtracks them. Like many peeps, I grew up with John Hughes movies so these podcasts are super interesting. One of the main hosts, Tarquin Gotch, was the music supervisor for most of the movies. He's got a ton of interesting info. There are six episodes, each one focuses on a different film: Planes, Trains & Automobiles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful. I'm through the first three, really cool stuff. Also, a box set, Life Moves Pretty Fast: The John Hughes Mixtapes, and it contains all of the music. The tracklist is absolutely stellar. Well worth looking up if you're any kinda fan of the films.
