Sitting here on a stupid hot Sunday, I put on the new Kasey Chambers album (Backbone) to check it out. I'd call myself a casual listener, at best. I know who she is and she's on my radar, but she hasn't been one of my go-to's. But that's not the point. The point is, on this new album, the final track is a recording from a show she did a couple years ago. Someone out there made a 4+ hour medley mix of Perfume and Capsule and it's absolutely exhilarating. You can tell this person(s) put a lot of love and effort into this mix. So freaking cool, sometimes I really love the internet. 10/10, all the stars.

Happy 25th birthday to the legendary 69 Love Songs, released by The Magnetic Fields on 7 Sept 1999. If you're not acquainted, it's exactly what the title says it is. The styles are all across the board, thought, and a lot of fun. Listen/buy it here. Also, I love Peter Gabriel, but no.   

Just fell in love with Bronwyn Keith-Hynes' I Built a World, which was just released this past July. Stumbled upon it randomly, read a blurb that said she was a member of Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway. Sold. I love Molly Tuttle, so that's an easy sell for me. I Built a World feels so light and summery. BKH's fiddle playing just kills, just listen to Scotty's Hoedown and hear for yourself. Apparently she's something of a whiz and won IBMA's (International Bluegrass Music Awards) fiddle player of the year in 2021 and 2022. Stream the album here and check...
